 Some 700 thousands of Petition Submitted to Court On Feb.6th, 2007, the Support Association for the JRU7 submitted a petition to the Tokyo District Court.The Association has been making efforts to gather signatures since the last September, seeking just and fair trial over the JRU Urawa case. On August 30th, 2007, The East Japan Railway Company
(JR East Company ) ordered disciplinary dismissal of 6 out of
JRU7.( One of JRU7 has left the company before the JR Urawa Train Depot
case was built.) The company cited a cause as punitive
dismissal as follows: " On July 17, 2007, the Tokyo District Court
handed down a guilty verdict on JRU7 because their behavior toward the
then employee of the company constituted a crime of coercion,

July 17th, 2007, The Tokyo District Court delivered a verdict of guilty
against JRU7, from one to two years' imprisonment with suspension of
execution. We have to say that the court decision reflects the will of
the state. JRU7's behavior was completely based on the principle
of trade union rights. JRU7 immediately appealed to the high Court In
the eve of the day, some thousands of union members and supporters

May 14,2006, a delegation of Japan Confederation of Railway Workers’ Unions
visited the spot where some 300 female attendants of the Korea Train Express
(KTX) have been staging strike, and encouraged them.The time was just the
day before all the KTX members were sacked by the company, which is a
contract company of the Korea Railroad Corp.

| 04/29 | Central May Day of Japan The central May Day rally in Japan was held in Tokyo and about
36000 workers marched into the ceremony. JRU members called for “Stop
bullying workers in the name of Day-shift education” which puts much
pressures on the workers of JR West Co, and “Safety must come before a train
schedule or profit”. This is the first May Day since ICLS (International Center for Labor Solidarity) was established. The ICLS decided to make a joint action with a common slogan of “Solidarity against Neo-liberal Globalization”. JRU made a start of it. [more] |

Iraq marks 2 years since Bush started “war on terrorism”. On March 19-20,
worldwide joint action against war was held in many countries. In Japan
there were rallies and parades in various regions. JRU gathered together
