JR East Company Dismissed JRU7

On August 30th, 2007, The East Japan Railway Company (JR East Company ) ordered disciplinary dismissal of 6 out of  JRU7.( One of JRU7 has left the company before the JR Urawa Train Depot case was built.) 07/17 Unjust Court Decision Sentenced to JRU7

On July 17th, 2007, The Tokyo District Court delivered a verdict of guilty against JRU7, from one to two years' imprisonment with suspension of execution. We have to say that the court decision reflects the will of the state. JRU7's behavior was completely based on  the principle of trade union rights. JRU7 immediately appealed to the high Court In the eve of the day, some thousands of union members and supporters gathered at a rally and were determined to get acquittal of  JRU7

Some 700 thousands of Petition Submitted to Court

On Feb.6th, 2007, the Support Association for the JRU7 submitted a petition to the Tokyo District Court.The Association has been making efforts to gather signatures since the last September, seeking just and fair trial over the JRU Urawa case. [more]

Bus Workers met for ITF International Action Week

On 7 September 2006, leaders from three bus workersf organizations from Japan Confederation of Railway Workersf Unions (JRU) had a meeting to decide on the activities of the ITF International Road Transport Workersf Action Week, 9-15 October 2006. [more]

08/08 Rally for Burmese Democracy 8888 Anniversary

On August 8th 2006, a rally for Burmese democracy ,8888 anniversary ,was held in Tokyo, with some 300 participating. Demonstrators chanted ," Down with military regime in Burma!" " No! oppression of workers!"  [more]

Central May Day of Japan

The central May Day rally in Japan was held in Tokyo and about 36000 workers marched into the ceremony. JRU members called for gStop bullying workers in the name of Day-shift educationh which puts much pressures on the workers of JR West Co, and gSafety must come before a train schedule or profith.
This is the first May Day since ICLS (International Center for Labor Solidarity) was established. The ICLS decided to make a joint action with a common slogan of gSolidarity against Neo-liberal Globalizationh. JRU made a start of it. [more]

"Stop occupation of Iraq" Rally in Japan

Burmese Human Right's Day

Some 200 people marched in Shibuya (Tokyo) for peace and democracy in Burma.
After an university student was killed by army on 13/3/1988, this incident sparked democracy movement in Burma. "3.13" is the anniversary for pro-democracy demonstrators in Burma.

6th ITF International Railway Workers' Action Day

JRU members distributed more than 40.000 leaflets at over 120 railway stations in the commuter time in the morning and evening on March 7 2005. In the leaflets we appeal for "Safety First", "No deregulation" and "Workers' Solidarity". [more]
