Rally for Burmese Democracy, 8888 Anniversary

On August 8th 2006, a rally for Burmese democracy, 8888 anniversary, was held in Tokyo, with some 300 participating. Three unions affiliated to ICLS, Seafarers Union of Burma, Seoul metropolitan Rapid Transport Workers' Union (Korea), and Japan Confederation of Railway Workers' Unions attended at the rally and demonstration, chanting "Down with military regime" " Implementation of democracy in Burma!" "No! oppression of trade union" " Respect unions' rights" " Release political prisoners in Burma!"

 All participants vowed to realize the democracy in Burma and to fight against oppression of workers.
